I thought I’d share my personal inner-standing about the concept of Peace.
Why would I want to do that I hear you ask, everyone knows what Peace is. And yes, of course, that’s true, but I beg your indulgence …
So, what’s peace?
Is it absence of noise, i.e. quiet?
Is it a state of personal being, i.e. being still, or peaceful?
Is it a state of cultural or political being, i.e. being at peace as a society as opposed to being at war?
Of course, it’s all of these. And so much more.
Why so much more?
Well, for me, when I sit with or feel into Peace, I realise that Peace is ultimate purity. Peace is perfect. Peace is the perfect purity from which our universe emanates.
For me, Peace takes on a cosmic meaning as the purity of the source of all. It’s difficult to put the enormity of that meaning into these words, or at least its currently beyond my personal creative ability. I had intended to try to capture this succinctly in a single sentence, but I believe I already did the best I can do above. I can’t improve on that right now, so let me repeat. For me:
Peace is the perfect purity from which our universe emanates.
So not just the experience of peace and quiet, or the absence of war, but the universal source of all!
Peace would seem to indicate silence, stillness, absence of excitement or energy etc.. But no, not at all, as the source of all it is the essence, the nucleus, from which the excitement of all creation emits, manifesting from purity as the energy of creation, as pure love energy. The general day-to-day interpretation of the word “love” applied in this phrase doesn’t do the intended meaning justice.
I’m not referring to just a loving feeling, or affection, or kindness etc. My intention is to reflect the majesty of the mighty energetic power behind all of creation, which is Love, as pure love energy, as the creative driving force behind the very fabric of our universe – source as infinite perfect peace emitting the infinite love energy of creation.
Back in 2003, shortly after the death of my dad, a short poem appeared in my consciousness (shared below). It was deeply meaningful to me at the time and it has grown greatly in meaning for me since, especially during the traumas of recent years. I called the poem “Love”.
I toyed with calling it “The Word” in place of “Love”. “The Word” indicated a vibrational energy, but was it enough? I called it “Love” because that reflected the real power and I also wanted to avoid creating a connection to any sectarian religious scripture for something I felt was so obviously universal – an example being the New Testament, Gospel According to John verse 1:
“In the beginning was the Word: the Word was with God and the Word was God.”.
This is a beautiful and powerful verse and for me the words “Love” and “the Word” in this context feel interchangeable. My perspective on this could perhaps be better explained by taking things one step further back by trying to describe a situation where from Peace, comes forth Love as the beginning and as the ongoing manifestation of all that is. My interpretation of the above verse would therefore be something like:
“Peace created the beginning through Love: Love is with Peace and Love is from Peace.”
So, for me then, all is from Peace. Health is from Peace. Wealth is from Peace. Love is from Peace. Freedom is from Peace. All this constantly available infinitely to all. We could indeed Meditate Health, or Meditate Wealth, or Meditate Love etc. But as ALL comes from Peace, we encompass the totality by Meditating Peace. Meditating Peace is about connection with source and the emanation of Love.
As I’ve said before elsewhere on this site, Meditating Peace changes our world with Love from a place of purity and power.
Until the next one … much love!
Love
Love is as gentle as the fluttering of a butterfly inside cupped hands.
It speaks as softly as the whispering of a summer breeze passing through a tree.
And yet it is eternal!
It is more constant than the ground beneath our feet,
Which it created.
Our calling is to know it’s there.
